Presenter Hub

In the face of change, this year will mark our very first virtual conference. To help prepare you for SPR 2021, we’ve developed a collection of information packages, easy-to-follow technical guides, and frequently asked questions.

What to Expect During Presentations

To support a smooth delivery of your session, we’ve put together a visual resource outlining the expected presenter view by session type. Learn more

Pre-recorded Presentations

Aside from plenary sessions, all presenters will need to decide whether they will join their session live or submit a pre-recording in advance. The deadline to submit pre-recordings is May 31, 2021. Please note you will receive a link to a folder where you can upload your video.

For presenters who are opting for a live-stream presentation, we are strongly recommending that you have a pre-recording submitted as a backup in case of technical glitches. If you are not providing us with a pre-recorded backup of your presentation, please coordinate with your co-presenters a backup plan.

Recording and Uploading Your Presentation

There are many ways to make an MP4 video as an individual or with multiple presenters. Take a look at this step-by-step guide for recording via Zoom, and submitting videos to the conference organizers. Although we are unable to gather in person, we are looking forward to seeing your creative and enthusiastic ways of staying connected through the social media hashtag #SPR2021.

Presenter FAQs
Is a pre-recording required for participation in the conference?

While a pre-recording is not required, we highly recommend preparing your presentations well in advance and uploading the pre-recording as a backup option. Through the pandemic, we’ve all become accustomed to the challenges of this increasingly virtual world. While technical difficulties are inevitable, we invite you to consider this option to make sure your contributions are accessible regardless.

Presentations must be uploaded by May 31, 2021.

Brief paper sessions and structured discussions have a time limit of 55 minutes, with 10 minutes for discussion at the end of the brief paper sessions. For sessions covering 4 papers, this means that each presenter has a maximum of ~10 minutes; for sessions covering 3 papers, each presenter has a maximum of ~15 minutes.

Panel sessions have a time limit of 80 minutes, with 15 minutes for discussion at the end of the session. For sessions covering 4 papers, this means that each presenter has a maximum of ~15 minutes; for sessions covering 3 papers, each presenter has a maximum of ~20 minutes.

Please note that presentations running over their allotted time may get cut off without warning (particularly, in the case of pre-recordings). Be mindful of the time and try to fit all your important contributions within the allotted time frame.

A technical support person will be assigned to each presentation during the conference to assist all presenters. Technical support staff will also be available through the Information Desk in the online event platform.

If you have any questions leading up to or during the conference, please don’t hesitate to contact our technical support team at sprtech2021@gmail.com
